A Touristy Experience

Mike was awesome! He went out of his way to help us understand more about Korean culture, and you can tell that he is passionate about it from the sparkle in his eyes. He also brought us to his fav drinking places after the tour and gave me many recommendations for my next leg in jeju! Book him now!

A Touristy Experience

We just returned from three weeks of vacation in Korea and the food tour with Mike was one of our top 3 activities. The tour was on our first full day in Korea and we are so glad we did this first. Mike showed us the ins and outs of Korean street food and exposed us to things we never would have tried. For example, still-moving raw octopus, marinated crab, sea pineapple, fish jerky, and the full range of delicious makgeolli. It was only our family of 4 on the tour, us and our two kids (14 and 12). They are adventurous eaters and tried everything (well, except the makgeolli). Mike engaged them and made them feel they weren't just tagging along. He was like their older and wiser Korean brother.

Mike just doesn't take you to places that you might see on Netflix. He knows the best places. Additionally, his love of food and his experience as a chef added a lot of depth to the foods we ate, their historical relevance, and their relationship to Korean culture. Mike also recommended foods and places that we should visit during the rest of our vacation in Seoul, Daejeon, Busan, and Jeju Island. He gave us so much more than we expected.

We are already considering a return to Korea. I would even do a repeat tour with Mike. Especially if we can combine more stops to get custard-filled walnut balls. OMG, yum!

Live life like a local

Mike is definitely who you want to be your guide! He has plenty of experience in Seoul, but he made sure our trip was fantastic! Next time (and there will definitely be a next time), we'll definitely be seeing him again!

And Mike, if you're reading this, then we'll see each other next year!

  • Loved walking through Insa-dong! Markets were fantastic (Kyung Jung Market)!

Best Foodie Tour Ever

I had the pleasure of doing a private foodie tour with Mike today and honestly hands-down. It was one of the best foodie tours I’ve had. I’m a professional chef and take foodie tours wherever I’m traveling in the world. Seoul is filled with an abundance of amazing ingredients there’s so much to learn and taste and experience it was a sensation for all my senses. I cannot recommend this experience enough whether it’s one or two or a group of people Mik will take amazing care of you and you will learn an experience and taste the deliciousness of Seoul

A True VIP Experience

We joined Mike a second time for a private tour, and I recommend this service. He has a lot of good information, interesting stops, great food to sample in places we’d never had found and a friendly rapport.

A Touristy Experience

Four of us spent a fabulous and memorable 10 hours with Mike and really got a feel for Seoul. I booked it far in advance and he worked with me to plan a very full day. Not only did we enjoy the food, the contemporary museum and other highlights, but he was kind enough to arrange for all of us to have facials, an experience we’ll never forget. We definitely want to go back to Seoul.

About Mike

I’m a Korean-born, American-raised guy who’s been living in Korea for 10 years. I know the culture and language very, very well. I will be taking you to places that you wouldn’t normally be able to find through Google. I am not your normal tour guide. I am not here to take you to 5-star restaurants, but instead amazing food, at even more amazing prices.
